This article explains how to store your general company documents and files in FreeAgent.
The 'Files' area is for files and documents that you might find useful while you're working on your accounts.
Please note that you can upload files up to 5MB in size.
Accessing the 'Files' area
To access any files you already have saved in FreeAgent, navigate to the drop-down menu at the top-right corner of the screen and select 'Files’.
This will bring up a list of your files.
Uploading a new file
You can upload a new file by selecting 'Select a file' and choosing the file you wish to upload from your computer.
Once you've chosen the relevant file that you would like to upload from your computer, select 'Upload' to upload the file into FreeAgent.
Renaming a file
You can rename a file in the 'Files' area by selecting the three dots to the right-hand side of the file and selecting 'Edit name' from the drop-down menu.
Once you've entered the new name, select 'Save changes' to complete the process.
Downloading an original copy of a file
You can download an original copy of a file in the 'Files' area by selecting the three dots to the right-hand side of the file and selecting 'Download original' from the drop-down menu.
The original copy of the file will then download to your computer. Alternatively, select the file name from the 'File name' column and it will automatically download the original copy to your computer.
Deleting a file
You can delete a file from the 'Files' area by selecting the three dots to the right-hand side of the file and selecting 'Delete file' from the drop-down menu.
Select 'OK' in the pop-up window to complete the process.
