How to link a bank transaction to a project

This article explains how to link a bank transaction to a project in FreeAgent.

Please note that you need to have level 6 access or above to your FreeAgent account in order to link a bank transaction to a project that you’ve already created in FreeAgent.

Navigate to the ‘Banking’ tab at the top of the screen and select ‘Bank Accounts’ from the drop-down menu.

Choose the relevant bank account from the list.

Select the transaction that you would like to link to a project.

Select ‘More Options’ in the bottom-right.

Alternatively, to go straight to the 'More Options' page, press the 'Alt' key or ‘Option’ key, depending on your device, at the same time as selecting a bank transaction.

Scroll down to the ‘Optional References’ section and select the relevant project from the ‘Link to Project’ drop-down menu.

Select whether or not you want to re-bill the transaction from the ‘Re-bill?’ drop-down menu.

If you’re linking a previously explained bank transaction to the project, select ‘Save Changes’ to complete the process. If you’re linking an unexplained bank transaction to the project as part of the process of explaining the bank transaction, select ‘Create and Finish’ to complete the process.
