How to find and share your FreeAgent referral link
This article explains how FreeAgent referrals work and how to find and share your referral link.
Earn and share discounts for each referral
Every person who subscribes to FreeAgent using your unique referral link will start a 30-day free trial. Then, if they subscribe to FreeAgent at the end of their trial, you'll both earn 10% off your subscriptions for as long as they remain a subscriber. That means that if you refer 10 people who go on to become subscribers, you'll be using FreeAgent for free.
Eligible users can access their unique referral link in both the desktop version of FreeAgent and on the Android version of the FreeAgent mobile app.
If your FreeAgent account is provided by your accountant, you are not eligible for the referral scheme. If your FreeAgent account is provided by your bank, you can access and share your referral link via the process described below, and any users you refer will earn 10% off their subscription if they subscribe to FreeAgent at the end of their free trial, but you won’t receive any discounts on your subscription, as you already receive your FreeAgent account free of charge.
Please note that if someone signs up to FreeAgent without using your referral link, the referral scheme will not be activated. If the person you refer stops using FreeAgent, your 10% discount will end. See the referral scheme terms and conditions for more details.
Finding your referral link on the desktop version of FreeAgent
Navigate to the drop-down menu that displays your company name in the top-right of the screen and select 'Referrals'. On the next screen you'll see some guidance on how the referral scheme works, along with the option to share your referral link.
The ‘Your discount’ bar on the ‘Refer a friend’ screen will reflect how many active referral discounts are being applied to your subscription.
Finding your referral link on the Android version of the FreeAgent mobile app
Open the 'Settings' menu by tapping the three-lined 'hamburger' icon at the top-left of the screen, select your company name and then 'Referrals'. In the 'Referrals' area of the app you'll see some guidance on how the referral scheme works, along with the option to share your referral link directly from your Android device.
Sharing your referral link
There are several ways to share your referral link from within FreeAgent. On the ‘Refer a friend’ page, you’ll see your unique referral link in the bottom-right corner, which you can copy, paste and share. When someone follows your referral link and subsequently subscribes to FreeAgent, you’ll both earn the referral discount.
You can also share your referral link via social media or email by selecting the relevant option from the ‘Share your referral link’ drop-down menu on the ‘Refer a friend’ page.
If you’d like to embed your referral link in your website, select the ‘Website embed link’ option. The link will then be copied to your clipboard. Embed it on your website and when someone follows your referral link and subsequently subscribes to FreeAgent, you’ll both earn the 10% referral discount.

How does this work with yearly subscriptions?
If you have a yearly FreeAgent subscription, or move on to one, you can still earn referral discounts, but these will only come into effect at the time of your next payment.
