This article explains how to edit or delete line items on a bill that you’ve created in FreeAgent.
You can also edit or delete a bill.
Find the bill
Navigate to the ‘Bills’ tab at the top of the screen.
Select the relevant bill from the list.
Edit or delete line items
You can either edit or delete line items on a bill.
Editing line items
Select ‘Edit’ next to the line item that you want to change.
This will bring up the ‘Edit bill item’ screen.
Once you’ve made the relevant changes to the line item, select ‘Save’ to complete the process.
Deleting line items
If the bill has been marked as paid, you'll need to remove the payment before you can delete the line item. If the bill is currently open or overdue, you can skip this step and delete the line item.
Remove the payment
To remove a payment, select the blue ‘Payment’ link near the bottom of the bill.
If the bill was marked as paid by explaining the bank transaction in the ‘Banking’ area, select ‘Remove this Explanation’ in the top-right to remove the payment from the bill.
If the bill was marked as paid manually, or the bank transaction was entered manually, select ‘Delete this Entry’ in the top-right instead.
Select ‘Yes, delete the transaction’ in the pop-up window to complete the process.
Delete the line item
Once the payment has been removed from the bill, select the cross next to the line item that you want to remove from the bill.
Select ‘Yes, delete this Bill Item’ in the pop-up window to complete the process.
