How to reset or update your password

This article explains how to reset or update the password for your FreeAgent account.

If you're unable to log in to your FreeAgent account, please see our troubleshooting steps for login problems.

Reset password

To reset your password, navigate to the FreeAgent login page and enter your FreeAgent subdomain in the URL in your browser to access the direct login page for your account.

Next, select 'Reset my password'.

Enter your email address and select 'Reset my password'.

FreeAgent will then email you instructions for how to reset your password. If you haven't received the email in your inbox, please check your spam and junk folders.

If you have multiple FreeAgent accounts using the same email address, you'll be given the option to choose which account you want to change the password for.

Once you've selected the company, you'll then be prompted to create a new password.

Update your password

To change your password, select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu in the top-right corner and then select 'Users'.

Select your name from the list of users.

Next, navigate to the 'Password' section at the bottom of 'User Details'.  

Enter your current password, your new password, and then confirm your new password and select 'Save Changes'.

Please note that your password must be at least twelve characters long to ensure you're setting a strong password for your account.
