Delete a user

This article explains how to delete an existing user that you've added to FreeAgent.

Please note:

  • You can't delete a user if you've recorded any transactions against that user such as expenses, to keep your historical accounting figures intact. 
     
  • You also can’t delete a user if their email address is linked to an email template. You’ll need to remove their email address from any email templates before you can delete their user profile.
     
  • It's not possible for a user with the role of 'Accountant' to delete a user.

However, you can edit their user profile and set their access level to zero to prevent them from accessing your FreeAgent account.

How to delete a user

Select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu in the top-right corner and then select 'Users'.

Select the name of the user you want to delete.

Select ‘Delete User’ in the top-right.

Select ‘Yes, delete the user’ in the pop-up window to complete the process.
