Company credit cards

This article will cover the different ways you can use a credit card in FreeAgent.

Setting up a credit card account

If the credit card belongs to your business and not to you personally, you can set it up as a bank account.

Navigate to the 'Banking' tab at the top of the screen and select 'Bank Accounts' from the drop-down menu.

From the 'Bank Accounts Summary' page, select ‘New’ and choose 'Credit Card Account' from the drop-down menu.

Enabling a credit card bank feed

A credit card bank feed automatically imports transactions from your online credit card to your FreeAgent account.

Instead of having to upload digital statements, just connect your FreeAgent account to your online credit card account and we’ll import your transactions.

Multiple card types for credit card providers

When you enable a credit card bank feed, you’ll notice that some credit card providers have multiple card types.

If you don’t see your credit card option, you can use the search function.

Making payments using the card

If you don’t want to set up a  credit card bank feed, there are some other ways to get your transactions into FreeAgent. You can either upload the transactions into FreeAgent and explain them if the credit card allows online access and downloads, or you can enter the credit card payments manually.

Paying off the card balance from your bank account

When you pay off the credit card balance from another bank account, explain the money out bank transaction from within the bank account in FreeAgent as a transfer to the credit card account.
