Edit or delete journal entries
This article explains how to edit or delete an existing set of journal entries that you’ve created in FreeAgent.
Please note that you’ll need to have full (level 8) access to your FreeAgent account to be able to edit or delete journal entries.

Navigate to the relevant journal entries
Navigate to the ‘Accounting’ tab at top of the screen and select ‘Journal Entries’ from the drop-down menu.
Select the relevant time period from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side.
How to edit journal entries
To edit an existing set of journal entries, select ‘Actions’ to the right of the relevant journal entries and select ‘Edit these journal entries’ from the drop-down menu.
This will allow you to make changes to the existing journals’ description, date, codes, amounts or attachment.
If you need to add extra journals to the set, select ‘Add Another’ and enter the relevant information.
To remove journals from the set, select the cross icon to the right of the relevant journals.
You can delete the journals instead by selecting ‘Delete these journal entries’ in the top-right corner or by following the steps below.
Once you’ve made the relevant changes, select ‘Save Changes’ at the bottom of the screen to complete the process.
How to delete journal entries
To delete an existing set of journal entries, select ‘Actions’ to the right of the relevant journal entries and select ‘Delete these journal entries’ from the drop-down menu.
Select ‘Yes, delete journal entries’ in the pop-up window to complete the process.
If there is a file attached to the journals, you will have the option to either permanently delete the attachment or move it to your Files area. Choose the relevant option and select ‘Yes, delete journal entries' from the pop-up window.
