Use FreeAgent with your accountant
This article explains how to use FreeAgent with your accountant or bookkeeper.
If you work with an accountant who is a FreeAgent partner, they can transfer your account to their Practice Dashboard, which is a tool that allows FreeAgent partner accountants to view and manage their clients’ FreeAgent accounts.
By transferring your FreeAgent account to their Practice Dashboard, they will gain full access to your account and they will be responsible for managing your FreeAgent subscription if you have one.
If you’d like your account to be transferred to their dashboard, please contact your accountant and provide them with the email address that you use to log in to your FreeAgent account, along with your FreeAgent subdomain so that they can initiate the transfer. You’ll then receive an email asking you to log in to your FreeAgent account and confirm the transfer.
If your accountant isn’t a FreeAgent partner, you can add them as a user to your account instead.
Please note:

Only the FreeAgent account owner can confirm the transfer of a FreeAgent account to a Practice Dashboard.
- If your FreeAgent account is already on a Practice Dashboard and you start working with a different FreeAgent partner accountant, you’ll need to request your account to be removed from the initial dashboard before it can be transferred to a different one.
- There are some tasks that only your accountant will be able to perform in FreeAgent if your account is transferred to their Practice Dashboard.

When your account has been transferred to your accountant’s Practice Dashboard, there are some tasks in FreeAgent that only your accountant will be able to perform.
