View your accounting information in NatWest or Mettle banking apps

This article explains how to view and track some of your FreeAgent accounting information using your NatWest or Mettle business banking app via our connected ecosystem.

FreeAgent’s innovative ecosystem integration with NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank and Mettle business accounts allows connected customers to see tax calculations and invoice details within the NatWest or Mettle business banking apps.

Bundling banking and accounting together in one place means you have the financial data to make key decisions right at your fingertips.

Please note:

  • You’ll need to connect FreeAgent to your NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank or Mettle business banking app to view this information in your banking app.

  • FreeAgent invoice view is currently only available for NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster bank.

  • Any changes made to your Tax Timeline preferences within FreeAgent will be reflected in your business banking app.

  • To view tax or invoicing information within your business banking app, you need to have the relevant access levels in FreeAgent.

Viewing your FreeAgent data in your NatWest business banking app

To start seeing your FreeAgent invoicing and tax data in your NatWest business banking app, you need to connect your bank account to FreeAgent by enabling a bank feed or updating an existing feed. If you already have an active bank feed, you’ll need to connect to FreeAgent from NatWest by selecting 'Manage Connections' from within your NatWest Business Banking app profile settings.

Accessing your FreeAgent invoices

In the ‘Payments: Request money’ section of your NatWest business banking app, you’ll be able to:

  • view all of the invoices that you’ve created in FreeAgent
  • view and filter those invoices to see what’s due (or overdue) and when
  • jump into the FreeAgent mobile app with one tap if you need to create and send new invoices

Being able to access your FreeAgent invoicing information in your business banking app can help you easily keep track of your finances, what you’re owed and the live status of all your invoices.

If you haven’t created any invoices in FreeAgent, you’ll see a message in the banking app that there are no invoices from FreeAgent.

Accessing your FreeAgent Tax Timeline and calculations

In the ‘Tax and accounting’ section your NatWest business banking app, you’ll also be able to:

  • view your FreeAgent Tax Timeline of upcoming tax events e.g. submission and filing dates, and payment due dates
  • view your total tax calculation of outstanding tax liabilities
  • view individual tax calculations by tax type e.g. VAT, Corporation Tax, Income Tax and PAYE

Being able to access your FreeAgent Tax Timeline in your business banking app can help you be prepared and set aside enough money to cover your upcoming tax bills.

Viewing your FreeAgent data in your Mettle business banking app

To start seeing your FreeAgent Tax Timeline, calculation and breakdown in your Mettle business banking app, you need to connect your bank account to FreeAgent by enabling a bank feed or updating an existing feed.

You’ll then be prompted to follow a few steps to approve the connection. Once you’re done, your invoicing and tax information will be displayed in your Mettle app.

You’ll be able to:

  • view your FreeAgent Tax Timeline of upcoming tax events e.g. submission and filing dates, and payment due dates
  • view your total tax calculation of outstanding tax liabilities
  • view individual tax calculations by tax type e.g. VAT, Corporation Tax, Income Tax and PAYE

Being able to access your FreeAgent Tax Timeline in your Mettle banking app can help you be prepared and set aside enough money to cover your upcoming tax bills.
