Cancel your CoPilot subscription

This article explains how to cancel your CoPilot subscription.

CoPilot is an innovative way of working with an accountant through FreeAgent to help simplify your business accounting and give you peace of mind. For an agreed monthly fee, you can choose an expert FreeAgent partner accountant who suits your business needs and then work with them directly within your FreeAgent account.

You can change your CoPilot subscription if your business circumstances change or follow the steps below to cancel your CoPilot subscription if you no longer want to work with the CoPilot accountant.

Please note:

  • As per the Terms of Service, you have the option to cancel your CoPilot subscription at any time by giving us one month's (30 days') notice.
     
  • Only the listed account owner can cancel the CoPilot service.
     
  • If the 30 days' notice ends after your next billing date, a pro-rata payment for your CoPilot subscription will be taken from the start of the billing date up to the end of the notice period

Cancel your CoPilot subscription

Navigate to the drop-down menu under your business name and select ‘Connections & Add-ons’.

Next, select ‘Manage’ in the ‘CoPilot’ section.

Select 'Cancel with X'.

Select a reason for cancelling the CoPilot service from the drop-down menu and tick the checkbox to confirm you understand your responsibility for ensuring your accountant receives all the information and data needed to complete any remaining services.

Select 'Confirm cancellation' to complete the process.

Please note that if the 30 days' notice ends after your next billing date, a pro-rata payment for your CoPilot subscription will be taken from the start of the billing date up to the end of the notice period.

Your CoPilot accountant will then be notified about the cancellation and they'll have access to your account until the day of cancellation to complete any outstanding work. Therefore, it's important to keep your account up to date to allow the CoPilot accountant to finish the agreed services.
