Delete a user
This article explains how to delete an existing user that you've added to FreeAgent.
Please note:
- You can't delete a user if you've recorded any transactions against that user, such as expenses or a salary payment. This is to keep your historical accounting figures intact in case they’re ever needed for a tax inspection.
- You also can’t delete a user if their email address is linked to an email template. You’ll need to remove their email address from any email templates before you can delete their user profile.
- It's not possible for a user with the role of 'Accountant' to delete a user.
- Deleting a user will delete all Self Assessment tax returns associated with that user.
However, you can edit their user profile and set their access level to zero to prevent them from accessing your FreeAgent account.
How to delete a user
Select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu in the top-right corner and then select 'Users'.
Select the name of the user you want to delete.
Select ‘Delete User’ in the top-right.
Select ‘Yes, delete the user’ in the pop-up window to complete the process.
