How to manage your listing in FreeAgent’s accountant and bookkeeper directory
This article explains how to add your practice to our accountant and bookkeeper directory if you’re an accredited FreeAgent Partner. It also explains how to update your listing after adding your practice.
When you’ve completed the FreeAgent Essentials module or the annual Accreditation module, and you have at least one client on your Practice Dashboard, your practice will become eligible to be listed in FreeAgent’s accountant and bookkeeper directory. This allows small business owners to find FreeAgent-accredited accountants and bookkeepers to help them with their business admin.
Please note that if your accreditation expires, your practice may be hidden from the directory until you complete the annual Accreditation module to renew your accredited status.
How to add your practice to the directory
To add your practice to the directory, follow this link to access the entry form on the Practice Portal. If you’re not already logged in to your FreeAgent Practice Dashboard, you’ll be prompted to log in using your Practice Dashboard credentials.
Add your practice’s telephone number, email address and website address by filling in the relevant fields.
Select up to three regions for your practice to appear under.
Please note that the regions in the drop-down menus have been chosen because they perform best in search referrals and Google search rankings. If you want to include a region that’s not listed in the drop-down menu options, you can add it to your practice description (see below).
You can include your office location, or list the counties you cover, for example, within your description. The directory search function is text-based, so any text included in the description will trigger a result, no matter how obscure the town or area is.
Next, you can specify whether you work with clients remotely, in person, or both.
Enter a summary of up to 120 characters, which will be displayed in directory search results, and a longer description of up to 500 characters, which will be displayed on your practice’s listing page.
Finally, specify the services your practice provides and the industry sectors that it works with.
Once you’re happy with the details you've entered, select ‘Submit’.
How to update your directory listing
Follow this link to access the update form on the Practice Portal. If you’re not already logged in to your FreeAgent Practice Dashboard, you’ll be prompted to log in using your Practice Dashboard credentials.
You can then update your details as required. See above for a complete description of the various fields. Once you’re happy with the details you have entered, select ‘Submit’.
What happens next?
A team member will review your submission and make the relevant updates to the directory as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please speak to your account manager.
