Switch to a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank or Mettle-funded FreeAgent account
If you have a business banking current account with either NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank or Mettle, you have the option to use FreeAgent for free by transferring to a funded account.
How to switch
NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank
First, you’ll need to ensure that details of your Natwest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank business current account are added to the Banking area of your FreeAgent account.
Once you've done this, you'll see a notification advising you that your account may be eligible for the funding offer with the NatWest Group. To confirm eligibility, you'll need to enable a bank feed from that bank via Open Banking against your business current account.
Once your eligibility has been verified, the footer colour at the bottom of your FreeAgent account will change, and the branding will display as either NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank. This will indicate that your account is now funded via your bank.
Mettle
You’ll need to ensure that details of your Mettle business current account are added to the Banking area of your FreeAgent account. If you haven't set up your FreeAgent account yet, find out how to set up a Mettle-funded FreeAgent account.
There will then be two steps involved to confirm eligibility for this offer and switch your FreeAgent account to Mettle-funded.
1. Enable a Mettle bank feed
First, you’ll need to enable the bank feed connection against your Mettle account.
After 24 hours of the feed being enabled, you’ll be able to complete the switching process.
2. Complete the switching process via Radar
To complete the switching process, navigate to the Radar area of your FreeAgent account by selecting the bell icon in the top-right and then selecting ‘View Radar page’.
There should be a notification listed confirming your eligibility for the free subscription offer. Select the 'Switch to a free subscription' link to complete the switch.
If you don't see the notification within the Radar area after 24 hours of the Mettle bank feed being enabled, please email support@freeagent.com.
Once you've completed the switch, the footer of your account will display the Mettle branding to indicate that your account is now funded via Mettle.
