Log in to the FreeAgent mobile app on an Android device using fingerprint or face recognition
This article explains how to use fingerprint or face recognition to log in to the FreeAgent mobile app on an Android device.
This feature is available for Android 9 (Pie) devices or newer with fingerprint or face recognition capabilities enabled. Please refer to your Android device manufacturer for instructions on how to enable fingerprint or face recognition on your device.
To maintain the highest levels of security and continue to improve FreeAgent, we’ll be removing support for Android 8 and below on 6th May 2024. In order to download and update the FreeAgent mobile app after this date, you’ll need to use a device that supports Android 9 (Pie) or newer.
How to activate fingerprint or face recognition in the FreeAgent mobile app
Tap the three-lined 'hamburger' icon at the top-left of the FreeAgent mobile app and select 'App settings'.
Toggle ‘Enable biometric authentication’ to turn the feature on.
Select how soon you would like the FreeAgent app to lock after you switch to another app or after your screen becomes inactive in the 'Lock after' field. The default setting is ‘Immediately’.
Tap 'SAVE' to complete the process.
How to deactivate fingerprint or face recognition on the FreeAgent mobile app
To deactivate biometric authentication, tap the three-lined 'hamburger' icon at the top-left of the FreeAgent mobile app and select 'App settings'. Toggle ‘Enable biometric authentication’ to turn the feature off and tap 'SAVE' to complete the process.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll be prompted to enter the email address and password associated with your FreeAgent account whenever you log in to the FreeAgent mobile app.
