Manage your practice’s default End of Year settings for clients
This article explains how to set up default settings for your practice that control whether your clients can access, approve and send end-of-year accounts in FreeAgent.
Please note:
- Only practice users with an admin role can manage the practice’s default End of Year access and submission settings.
- End of Year access and submission settings will be applied to all clients, including those that are linked to the dashboard. However, you can override these default settings for individual clients.
Managing End of Year settings for clients
Select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu below your practice name.
Next, select ‘Tax submission and access control’ from the ‘My practice’ area.
Within the ‘End of Year’ tab, you can choose who can access the End of Year area in FreeAgent, update clients' end-of-year accounts submission settings and report content settings.
Client access settings
You can choose whether the End of Year area, Final Accounts reports and Corporation Tax returns in FreeAgent can be accessed by account managers only, account managers and clients with full (level 8) access, or account managers and clients with level 7 and 8 access.
End of Year settings
You can choose to use account manager approvals for End of Year submissions.
If you allow clients to access the End of Year area, you can choose whether clients' with full (level 8) access can file their Final Accounts reports and Corporation Tax returns themselves.
Report content settings
Choose whether the Accountant’s Report, Companies House Report tab and CT600 tab, which are not included by default, should be visible in the client’s End of Year area, and add text for it if you want to include it.
Email settings
If you choose to enable approvals, you can set up default contents for the emails. A default message will appear in the ‘Default email contents’ area but you can edit this text if you wish.
Once you’re happy with the default End of Year access and submission settings, select ‘Save changes’ to complete the process.
