Migrate your Lloyds Banking Group credit card bank feed
This article explains how to migrate your Lloyds Banking Group credit card bank feed from a Mastercard account to a new Visa account in FreeAgent. This ensures that your bank feed will continue to automatically import transactions in FreeAgent.
Lloyds Banking Group started a migration from Mastercard to Visa for their credit card accounts in November 2025 and will continue the process for an entire year. Please contact them directly via your banking app if you have any queries or issues with your Lloyds account or this migration.
Please note:
- This migration only impacts Lloyds Banking Group business credit cards and personal credit cards. Any bank feeds related to current and savings accounts within FreeAgent are not affected.
- The steps below apply to those who have already set up a Lloyds Banking Group credit card bank feed in FreeAgent with Mastercard. If you want to set up a brand new Lloyds credit card bank feed, read more on how to enable an Open Banking bank feed.
Migrate your Lloyds Banking Group credit card bank feed from Mastercard to Visa
There are three steps to this process:
- Disable your credit card bank feed
- Edit your card details to match those on your new visa card
- Update and enable your credit card bank feed
1. Disable your Lloyds Banking Group credit card bank feed
Navigate to the ‘Banking’ tab at the top of the screen, select 'Bank Accounts' from the drop-down menu and choose the Lloyds Banking Group credit card bank account which has the feed you wish to disable.
Navigate to the ‘More’ button and select ‘Disable bank feed’ from the drop-down menu.
Confirm that you’d like to remove this feed by selecting ‘Disable’.
You’ll need to repeat this step for each Lloyds credit card bank account that you have set up within FreeAgent.
2. Edit your credit card account details
Next, you’ll need to update your account details in FreeAgent.
Within your Lloyds credit card bank account in FreeAgent, select the 'Edit details' button.
Enter the last four digits of the new Visa card number here to match those for your new Lloyds Visa credit card.
Select 'Save changes' at the bottom of the screen to complete this part of the process.
3. Update and enable your Open Banking bank feed
As you’re already connected to Lloyds, you don’t need to create a brand new connection but you’ll need to approve access to the new account.
Select ’Enable bank feed’.
Select ‘Connect to my bank’ to provide your consent to access your account details.
Next, you’ll be taken to your Lloyd’s Banking Group bank’s website to authorise the connection process. This process may differ from bank to bank, so please follow the prompts given by your bank to complete the connection setup with FreeAgent.
When you’re entering your account number and sort code, it’s important to make sure not to include any spaces or dashes between those numbers, or you won’t be able to complete the setup process.
To complete the process, confirm or select the FreeAgent bank account to associate with the feed, choose your transaction start date and select ‘Link Account’. Please note that your transaction start date cannot be earlier than your FreeAgent start date or be changed after the bank feed has been enabled.
What happens next?
Select 'Go to my bank feed' and you’ll be taken to the main Banking screen.
On the Banking screen, you'll see that your bank feed is currently pending. Your feed should start pulling through transactions very soon and import transactions once every 24 hours after that.
In addition to this, the bank feeds are only able to import transactional data that has been made available by the bank directly, so the bank feed will only be able to import transactions which are deemed as fully cleared by the bank and made available to the feed at the time of the import.
FreeAgent will display the ‘Balance at bank’ for your bank account at the bottom of the ‘Bank details’ sidebar. Please check that the balance in your bank account matches the bank balance in FreeAgent. If you find it doesn’t match, find out how to reconcile your bank balances.
Remember, you’ll need to give consent every 90 days to allow your bank transactions to automatically import into FreeAgent. Find out more about updating Open Banking bank feeds.
